Gale B. WItherell Obituary


Gale Beecher Witherell, of Independence, MO passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022. He was 100 years young. A memorial service is to be held at South Chrysler Restoration Branch on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.

Gale was born on December 13, 1921, in Knoxville, IL. He graduated from Galesburg High School, then went on to attend Graceland College, now Graceland University. On March 25, 1955, he married Grace Hartshorn on her family farm in Odessa, MO. Gale retired after over 30 years with the Corp of Engineers as a Draftsman and an Engineer Technician. He was an active Elder, even until lately, in the Odessa Restoration Branch. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. 

Gale is preceded in death by his mother, Etta Mae (Dawson) Witherell, and his brother, Sterling Witherell. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Grace; his sons, Kevin (Yvette) Witherell of Independence and Scott (Denise) Witherell, also of Independence; grandchildren, Cassandra (Chris) Nabors, Noah Witherell, Aria (Stephen) Larson, Alissa Witherell, and Anna Witherell; 3 great-grandchildren, Lily, Araca, and Beau; as well as, his sister of 102 years, Marion Adeane Boyer of Blue Springs.
