Protect the Flock November 14
On November 14, Waldo Avenue Restoration Branch women’s department sponsored a presentation entitled “Protect the Flock.” This is an important message that church members and especially priesthood need to be more aware of, in order to give appropriate ministry to those in domestic abuse situations. You can watch the presentation again here: (note, the problem with the audio during the live broadcast has been fixed)

"Providing healing resources, support, and hope for victims of domestic violence in the church and Prevention Education-Training for those who shepherd the flock."
The foundation of Zion are relationships. First with God and the Lord, Jesus Christ. Secondly, with one another. In my studies, I've learned that patterns of abuse/control are nearly the same within an intimate partner relationship, and within the confines of a terrorist hostage relationship. I have witnessed similar patterns among and within the body of Christ. We may want to consider the ways in which we treat one another, for the end result is division. May it not be so among you.

May the sentiments of the following hymn be our collective prayer. Sister Abigail
Triumphant Zion lift thy head!
From dust and darkness and the dead.
Though humbled long, awake at length,
And gird thee with thy Savior's strength!
Put all thy beauteous garments on,
And let thine excellence be known!
Decked in the robes of righteousness,
Thy glories shall the world confess!
No more shall foes unclean invade,
Thy hallowed walls with dread!
No more shall hell's insulting host,
Their victories and their sorrows boast!
God from on High has heard thy prayer;
His hand thy ruin shall repair!
Nor will thy watchful Monarch cease
to guide thee in eternal peace!
