Jacquelyn Baker Obituary
Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother (Mimi), Jacquelyn Rhea Baker,65, of Independence, Missouri, entered through the gates of Heaven on December 16, 2021, at CenterPoint Hospital surrounded by family. She was born December 17, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Robert and Patricia Howard. She grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. She married her loving husband, John Baker Jr. of 48 years on December 8, 1973 and raised 4 children. They lived in St. Louis, Missouri, with a brief move to Decatur, Illinois, then back to St. Louis until they moved to Mt. Juliet, Tennessee in 1985. She also lived in Nashville, and Dickson, Tennessee, before moving to Independence, Missouri in 1993. She worked at Center Place Restoration School for a number of years first as a secretary and then as a librarian. She then worked at Manheim Auto Auction for several years before retiring. She was born and raised in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She had a wonderful heritage passed on to her as a 6th generation Latter Day Saint. She attended the Waldo Avenue Restoration Branch. She loved her family and enjoyed teaching her grandchildren about Jesus Christ. She enjoyed reading her Scriptures and sharing about Christ with others. She loved to go bargain shopping and taking her dogs for walks. She also loved gardening and swimming in her backyard pool. She loved serving the Lord by helping others, whether it was food, sharing Young Living oils, or babysitting and among other things. She will be greatly missed.
She’s preceded in death by her father (Bob), her brother (Larry), a nephew (David), and a niece (Jennifer). She’s survived by her loving husband, John Baker Jr., her mother (Pat), her 4 children, Hope Carnahan (Tom), Heather Park (Justin), John Baker III(Kristin), and Kirsten Rewald (Jordan), 16 grandchildren, sister Julie Bartley (Den), and many nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be Monday, December 27, 2021, at Waldo Avenue Restoration Branch at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers please donate to Price Publishing.
