Independence Missouri Police Chief Selection Process

Next week the City of Independence will be selecting a new Police Chief for the Centerplace. The City has been struggling with public trust and this is a good opportunity to make your voice heard for improvements. There are two applicants for Chief. One candidate, Chief Bryce Johnson, comes from outside. He was a commander at Salt Lake City PD, Chief at Juneau, AK, and currently Chief at Idaho Falls, ID. He received his Master's from BYU.

The other candidate is Adam Dustman who is an internal candidate, whom some of you may or may not know, has been an officer for 14 years. He holds the rank of Captain and is currently assigned as Interim Chief.

To incorporate public opinion, people are encouraged to stop by Wednesday, July 27th, between 6:00-8:00 pm at the Uptown/Farmers Market at your convenience, where you can come and go as you please and see both the candidates in an informal setting. The public will be able to leave an anonymous vote for their choice for the next Police Chief for the Centerplace.

Most importantly, your prayers are appreciated in this very important decision. As we all mostly live and/or worship in and around the Independence area.

Very Respectfully,
