LIVING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD APRIL 6, 2023
Birthday, anniversary greetings to the Saints around the world,
April 6, a day in history with a great impact upon those who profess Jesus Christ as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The day many believe to be the birthday of Jesus as well as the day He was resurrected. In addition to that, the day on which the Church of Jesus Christ was restored to the earth,1830, and the day when the Church was Reorganized in 1860. Read DC 1:5 and DC 17:1 and Church History Volume 3, Chapter 12, pp. 247-250. If you do not have Church History you can pull it up on centerplace.org.
As everyone knows, we are into that time of year when believers in Jesus Christ observe or remember the last week in the earthly life of Jesus. Many are also aware of the connection of the Jewish Feasts (Festivals) to the life of Jesus. We know that everything Jesus did was in accord with Jewish Feasts because he was a Jew and strictly observed the Law.
It is obvious to many, that the Jewish Feast times have been overshadowed due to the infiltration of pagan beliefs such as Christmas/Birth of Jesus and Easter/Resurrection of Jesus. I choose to refer to this coming Sunday as RESURRECTION SUNDAY.
All the frills of celebration may be nice, but we must not be confused as to the truth and real meaning of the Life of Jesus and purposes of God. If we are living in the Kingdom of God, we must be an example to all around us. If we wish to truly live so Christ is glorified in us, we must make our everyday lives reflect His- the way He demonstrated for us to live in hope and serve others. Like the “road to the cross” this is not easy, but it is the ideal way to proclaim the Risen Lord to all around us.
A song entitled, “He’s Alive” by Don Francisco closes with the appearance of Jesus to the disciples and especially to Peter. It’s meaning is applicable to each us who find new life in Jesus. You can pull the entire song on the net, but here are the closing verses.
But suddenly the air was filled with a strange and sweet perfume,
Light that came from everywhere drove shadows from the room,
Jesus stood before me with his arms held open wide,
And I fell down on my knees and clung to him and cried,
He raised me to my feet and as I looked into his eyes,
Love was shining out from him like sunlight from the sky,
Guilt and my confusion disappeared in sweet release,
And every fear I'd ever had just melted into peace.
He's alive, He's alive, He's alive and I'm forgiven,
Heavens gates are open wide.
He's alive, He's alive, He's alive and I'm forgiven,
Heavens gates are open wide.
HE’S ALIVE!
God bless and keep you
