“…I, THE LORD…WILL THAT ALL MEN SHALL KNOW THAT THE DAY SPEEDILY COMETH WHEN PEACESHALL BE TAKEN FROM THE EARTH AND THE DEVIL SHALL HAVE POWER OVER HIS OWN DOMINION.” D&C 1:6

I was hoping for a let-up in the treacheries and perils attacking our nation, the people around the world and Christianity. I was hoping to send a refreshing uplift and respite to the children of the Kingdom, but some horrible events have transpired on the land this past week. Before saying any more, it is important for us to be reminded and refreshed with the fact that God always wins, on his terms. We are reassured, even if by contrast with world events, that the call to establish Zion is the most refreshing and hopeful event, other than Christ’s return, that could (and will) happen. Even more exciting is that we can actually labor for it and see it develop in its physical as well as spiritual reality. This happens as a result of putting our belief and dedication into kinetic practice. This is not theory or rhetoric. It is for those of both faith and determination. We are called to be participants, not just spectators.

Many, many scriptures and prophecies instruct us in what to be doing (“prepare, prepare ye for that which is to come…” D&C 1: 3b. Re-reading all of Section 1 at this time will probably be very revealing.) Prophecy and scripture also tell us where we are in a time-line or series of events. In the last week, there is horrible word of loss to Ukraine, the U.S. and NATO and the world is erupting in war in the Middle East. There is much more than can’t be briefly covered…the same folks that claimed that they didn’t tamper with the last presidential “election” are attempting to remove Donald Trump from the ballots after years of manufacturing lies and slander against him… The elites are picking our leadership (as if we didn’t recognize this before now).

These following twenty verses, 1st Nephi 3:217-237, are full of POWER and clue us into where we are in this time-line.

“217 And it came to pass that when the angel had spoken these words, he said unto me, Remember the covenants of the Father unto the house of Israel?

218 And I said unto him, Yea.

219 And it came to pass that he said unto me, Look and behold that great and abominable church, which is the mother of abominations, whose founder is the devil.

220 And he said unto me, Behold, there are save two churches only:

221 The one is the church of the Lamb of God, and the other is the church of the devil;

222 Wherefore whoso belongeth not to the church of the Lamb of God belongeth to that great church, which is the mother of abominations;

223 And she is the whore of all the earth.

224 And it came to pass that I looked and beheld the whore of all the earth, and she sat upon many waters;

225 And she had dominion over all the earth, among all nations, kindreds, tongues and people.

226 And it came to pass that I beheld the church of the Lamb of God, and its numbers were few because of the wickedness and abominations of the whore who sat upon many waters;

227 Nevertheless, I beheld that the church of the Lamb, who were the saints of God, were upon all the face of the earth;

228 And their dominions upon the face of the earth were small, because of the dominions of the great whore who I saw.

229 And it came to pass that I beheld that the great mother of abominations did gather in multitudes upon the face of all the earth, among all the nations of the Gentiles, to fight against the Lamb of God.

230 And it came to pass that I beheld the power of the Lamb of God, that it descended upon the saints of the church of the Lamb, and upon the covenant people of the Lord, who were scattered upon all the face of the earth;

231 And they were armed with righteousness and with the power of God in great glory.

232 and it came to pass that I beheld that the wrath of God was poured out upon the great and abominable church, insomuch that there wars and rumors of wars among all the nations and kindreds of the earth

233 And as there began to be wars and rumors of wars among all the nations who belonged to the mother of abominations, the angel spake unto me, saying,

234 Behold the wrath of God is upon the mother of harlots;

235 And behold, thou seest all these things;

236 And when the day cometh that the wrath of God is poured out upon the mother of harlots, which is the great and abominable church of all the earth, whose foundation of the devil,

237 Then at that day the work of the Father shall commence, in preparing the way for the fulfilling of his covenants which he has made to his people, who are of the house of Israel.”

The Watchman’s Report at the next meeting will be very informative on the significance and portent of national events and will help identify our place in the time-line.

CALENDAR

NEXT MEETING will be on Sunday, January 7th at 2:00 PM at Central Branch, 919 S. Delaware, Independence. There is much to plan and do including garden planning, storehouse stocking, and any and all that needs to get done to make a righteous community, independent of Babylon, for the safety, refuge and thriving of Jesus’ people from around the world. ‘Huge undertaking, yes, but the Word is true that “I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHICH STRENGTHENS ME.” And we have been called to this task.

Some of us have been under the weather. I hope all of you are well! It seems like a long time since we last met on December 17th. I’m looking forward to the friendship, fellowship and cooperation on the 7th.

NEXT WORK DAY: Scheduled for Jan. 13th. Weather permitting, we will be splitting and stacking firewood for a lady in need. Anyone who can help before then, please contact me and we will try to get a crew and a day planned.
