Safety and Pandemic Mandate Protocol

Solemn Assembly, September 26-27, 2020

Brothers and Sisters, we are looking forward with much anticipation to our gathering at the last of this month.  We wish to inform you of measures that will be in place for our safety and to meet the terms of the protocol established by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Eastern Jackson County (Missouri) Recovery Plan.

We are disappointed that initial plans for our gathering have had to be altered by the Covid19 pandemic, but we want to conform to directions given by our authorities, and of utmost importance, we want to provide a safe environment in which the Saints can assemble.

We politely ask that if you have any symptoms of the Corona virus, or if you have been exposed to someone who has tested positive, that you remain in quarantine, and refrain from attending the gathering.  We want to remind you that both the Saturday Preparation Service and the Sunday Solemn Assembly itself will be live streamed and broadcast on Zoom, affording you an opportunity to be a part of it.  We especially note the vulnerability of persons over age 60, and those with other underlying conditions presenting high risk, and want to protect these and all the Saints.

Following guidelines in place in Jackson County, attendance at Waldo Avenue Branch will be limited to 50% of normal capacity.  We will, however, have seating available in the CPRS gymnasium.  Maximum attendance of 450 is recommended for the sanctuary, and 250 for the gym.  Other area churches will be open as satellite centers, providing opportunity for participation in the Solemn Assembly through the use of technology.  One of these is in close proximity to Waldo Branch, namely Living Hope Branch, several blocks to the south on S. Crysler Ave.

This protocol applies to satellite locations participating with the Solemn Assembly through technology as well.

Face masks are REQUIRED to be worn, covering the mouth and nose of everyone age 5 and older.  Please provide you own masks; a limited number of masks will be provided for those needing.

Social distancing must be observed, and ushers will be assisting with the initial seating.  Family members are allowed to sit together, but six feet interval spacing will be necessary otherwise.

Hand washing is a key factor for prevention and is recommended at every opportunity.

Water fountains will be available, but only for filling bottles or cups. Bottled water will be available for those in need.  You may want to bring your own, but please be considerate of the sanctuary and other worshipers.

Microphones for individual participation by the congregants will be handled by ushers only, and will be sanitized often at intervals in the service.

Beyond the concerns for the health and safety of our Saints who gather together for the services, we have one other plea for your cooperation.  The Waldo Branch shares its facility with Center Place Restoration School, an institution that is extremely valuable to the church.  WE MUST INSURE THAT WE FOLLOW THE MANDATES AND GUIDELINES THAT HAVE BEEN PUT IN PLACE IN ORDER TO PROTECT THE FUNCTION OF THE SCHOOL!  We want nothing to jeopardize the further operation of the school and its important function and service to the Restoration Churches and community.

We humbly but firmly ask everyone to abide by the guidelines established, even if you differ in opinion. It is important for us to be cooperative with one another and our authoritative entities.

May God bless the gathering in the Solemn Assembly.
