LIVING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD JUNE 16, 2022

Mid-year Greetings to God’s People World Wide,

Here in Independence, as everywhere, we are in the middle of June and in the middle of 2022. The year is speeding by and the temperament of the world seems to be out of control, of man. Predictions of food shortages, high gasoline prices, promotion of ungodly activities, wars and rumors of wars seem to be the topics of conversation of many people. It does not appear that things are going to improve.

This week I have been re-reading the “Endowment” given to Brother Earl Curry in 1957. We were told that Zion could be within ten years, (1967) if ... All through all the scriptures, God’s pattern seems to be, “If you will, then I will.” Here we are now sixty-five years later and look at all the spiritual debris strewn along the road to Zion because He would have, but we did not.

We talk about “Living in the Kingdom of God,” but what evidence do we see of the Kingdom? That is a question we each must ask ourselves and be brave enough to answer for ourselves. We are involved in a race, not a dash, but a marathon. A runner in a 26 mile marathon race is most likely getting very tired after the 15th mile, maybe before, but there is a battle going on within the soul. The body maybe saying, “Stop!, you don’t have to do this,” while the spirit is saying, “One mile at a time, and you will cross the finish line, then you can rest.” We sing the song, “I have decided to follow Jesus, NO turning back, NO turning back.”

The “Restoration Branch Family Reunion and Conference of Restoration Elders,” sponsored by the Conference of Restoration Elders (CRE) and the Pastors of Zion (POZ) begins this Sunday, June 19, 2022. The weekly theme is:”Take Upon You the Name of Christ and Run the Race.” The daily themes focus on the main theme, “..with full purpose of heart and patience,” “holding the banner of truth and freedom,” “proclaiming the fullness of the Gospel,” “with a determination to serve Him to the end,” “and obtain an incorruptible crown.” The reality of God’s Kingdom, for each of us, no doubt, depends on how we are “running the race.”

All the Saints are encouraged to take advantage of the reunion/conference by fasting and praying for God to be with and in all the activities, attending as many activities as possible and if not in person, then by way of live stream. All activities in the Sanctuary will be live streamed. Information regarding the reunion/conference can be found on the CRE website. Eldersconference.org.

Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

This Sunday, as we gather to honor and worship our Heavenly Father, we also honor His sons, many of whom are earthly fathers. Happy Father’s Day! We also offer our thoughts and prayers to those who have lost their earthly fathers.

God’s peace be upon you.
God bless.
Paul Gage
