Shirley J. (Nunn) Bulen, 70, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Saint Luke’s Medical Center, Lee’s Summit, MO. She was born January 22, 1951 in El Reno, OK, the daughter of Omar and Ruth (Luff) Nunn. Shirley earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and was a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery. She was extremely proud of her work, specializing in Neo-Natal Care and Fetal Demise, and is author of Forever Remembered, a book of support and guidance through the grief process for bereaved parents. Having faced her share of both hardship and blessing, her professional and personal life were consumed in caring and loving, and helping others to do the same. On December 24, 1983 she married David Bulen, who survives of the home. Other survivors include: her children, Edward Moad and wife Nura (Doha, Qatar), Christina Edmonds and husband Anthony (Havre, MT), Robbie Bulen and wife Tabatha (Greenwood, MO), and Keith Bulen; her brothers, Mark Nunn and wife Sherri (Oak Grove, MO), David Nunn and wife Ivy (Robinson, KS); her sisters, Kathy Mobley (Oak Grove, MO) and Sherri Henson (Independence, MO), along with 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Thomas R. Nunn, and her great-granddaughter, Robin Fritz. Memorial Service Visitation: 3:00pm Service: 4:00pm In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Shirley’s name are suggested to Gateway for Cancer Research or the March of Dimes March for Babies project.
