All Ages

Foundation: Jesus Christ-Repentance-Grace-Submission-Humility-Faith-Hope-Charity

Prepare to be in God’s Kingdom and don’t go alone.

High School-Proper Balance

Paul writes to Timothy ---Timothy 4: 12-16

Study, prayer, worship vs video games-use your time wisely

Home (family, chores, responsibilities) are you a giver or a taker

Church –participate, lead, support, sacrifice, love, worship, serve, smile

Dating

Sports, Boy’s and girl’s programs (Scouting)

Music-choir, band, private lessons, practice, plays and performances

After school employment

Family time: meals, prayer, study, worship

What is your order of priority

Finding the Love of Your Life, Christian Dating (starting a class on Wednesdays at 5:30 Trailblazer room all are invited) Willing to start a new class if requested.

True Love Waits is another class that I highly recommend and can be very helpful. Available upon request.

Three simple rules to escape poverty

College or Early Adult

Role in college-represent Christ at all times lead others to Christ-Work hard

Continue with attending church either near the college or back home or develop a study and worship group

Cohabitation-The share of adults who have lived with a romantic partner is now higher than the share who have ever been married.

Pew Research Center 11/6/2019 14 page report

If not college but entering the work force

What is an employer looking for:

Maturity, positive attitude, ability to fit in, hard worker, follow direction, achieve goals on time

Pre-Marriage Counseling (Prepare & Enrich) 6 month class, cost $35 per couple plus books, need 2 hours to train a new facilitator

Newly Married before children

Develop good habits early

Get involved in a local branch

Establish Zionic Home (Put Your Homes In Order for the Bridegroom Cometh)

Family: worship, prayer, study, fun, service, finances

Scriptural Roles of Husband and Wife

Husband love your wife as Christ loves the church

Wife should reverence her husband

1 Peter 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

Submitting yourselves to one another in the fear of the Lord

Share family testimonies

Share at least one meal a day together

Continue to keep romance alive- date your spouse-surprise him or her

Develop skills in Communication and Conflict Resolution

Learn and keep learning about your spouse

Do you have a plan for children? When, how many

Married with Children

Develop agreeable child rearing policy-be a team pulling on the same side of the rope

Set boundaries and be able to enforce them

Develop balance of hard side of love and soft side of love

Maintain dating your spouse (Romance)

Continue with habits listed under newly married but now with children

Commanded to teach the children and prepare them to be in God’s kingdom

Teach the children especially by example-show them, lead them

One the best gifts you can give your children is to live a wonderful marriage

Decide who is going to raise your children

Parent or day care

Two parents working?

Is it possible to have a stay-at-home mom?

Retirement

Did you prepare properly for retirement

Debt free

What style of living do you want and what can you

afford (prepare new budget)

Remain active in all areas of your life

Spiritual-Church, priesthood duties, family

Continue to bless others especially family

Continue to take good care of your health (Diet and exercise)

Write down your testimonies and share them with your loved ones. Write them down as they happen.

Widow and Widower

Take time to grieve

Don’t stop, keep going, keep blessing others, keep serving, keep moving

Should I marry again? That answer is different for everybody but seek counseling

What are the short-term benefits and problems

What are the long-term benefits and problems

How do you want to combine material wealth

Will your children be taken care of upon your

death

Pre-marriage counseling should be helpful.

Learn to do the things your spouse did: paying bills, household chores, minor maintenance, record keeping, yard chores, etc.

Hire the things done you can no longer do or don’t want to do

Is the house too big-should I consider moving

Finances may change - prepare a new budget
