Volunteers and Supplies Needed for 2 IIAW Projects

Volunteers and Supplies Needed for 2 IIAW Projects, Bibles to Kenya and Upcoming Events

August 14, 2019

Dear, Saints,

The Independence Is Alive and Well Initiative needs volunteers to help organize and shelve donated items for the Jesus Store at the Unity Center of Independence. Also, shelving for the Jesus Store has been donated and will need to be installed. The Center is open Mondays through Wednesday from 9am to 2pm. The Jesus Store is designed to immediately supply homeless and underserved Beloveds in Independence with personal hygiene items, clothes, shoes, etc. The Center is located at 803 W. 23rd Street, (Union at 23rd). This service is a way to meet immediate needs while the Center is undergoing renovation. If you can assist, contact Billy Tharp at 816-695-0621, glmsetfree@yahoo.com or Muriel Luedeman at 816-726-8425, mur620@gmail.com

The next mission trip to Standing Rock, North Dakota to take the gospel and relief to Standing Rock Reservation is planned for Labor Day weekend. The S.R. Reservation Council has asked for computers and printers, and bicycles, to improve the quality of life in that area. Also, more box fans, household items, sewing machines, tools, cleaning supplies, and winter clothing are greatly needed - coats, jackets, boots, and blankets. Pastor Brian Carline, of Team Jesus, KC, has asked for 5 – 7 computers and printers, and 10 bikes to go up this trip.

On August 7th, Pastor Carline met with Eric Odida to discuss ways to connect and network together to meet needs in the Center Place and in Kenya. Eric toured the Unity Center and a strong working relationship was established between the two men. With a commitment to prayer, plans are being made for a Team Jesus mission trip to Kenya to help supply Bibles to Kenyan youth and start outreach to thwart gambling, prostitution, and sex trafficking.

The next general IIAW meeting is August 27th at 6:30pm at the Unity Center. This is a good time to come and hear the progress being made with the center’s building renovation, neighborhood outreach, growth of services at the center to serve the needs of the community, and future projects.

Please pray for the IIAW. There are so many needs, so many people to be reached, so many ways to serve, and so much healing needed in the whole body of Christ, so that the Kingdom can be established and thrive in Independence.

At your service in Jesus Christ,

Muriel Luedeman
IIAW Communications Liaison
