Andrew M. Bullard Obituary

Surrounded by his family, Andrew Madison Bullard, 46, of Frisco, Texas, was received into the everlasting arms of his Savior on February 23, 2020, at the home of his mother and sister in Bates City, Missouri,—the family home of his youth.

Andy was delivered into this world by the loving hands of his father at the family home beside Bear Creek in Stockton, Missouri, on July 10, 1973. Andy’s elementary years were spent on the Country Storehouse farm in rural Bates City, Missouri, where the family moved when he was about 5 years old. There, through 8th grade, he attended Sionita, a private Christian school. At the age of 8, Andy was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This event solidified his public witness of Christ, which he continued to share throughout his life. He graduated with honors from Odessa High School in 1991. Andy was a universal favorite of faculty and peers alike. This characteristic would follow Andy all over the country as he interacted with what became a large and extensive network of friends.

After high school, Andy worked as a teller at United Consumers’ Federal Credit Union. He quickly proved his value as a motivated and diligent worker and was moved into the loan underwriting department. This would become his expertise in the years to come. By 2004, he was an experienced underwriter and processing manager for Citi Corp in Overland Park, Kansas. In 2005, he began his career with Capital One, which not only catapulted his career but extended and escalated the influence of his beautiful and faithful life. In 2009, his job with Capital One took Andy to Bethesda, Maryland. He was invited to join the office in Plano, Texas, in 2010. It was in Texas that Andy “settled in,” eventually building a home in Frisco.

He became active in the Preston’s Trail Community Church, where he served faithfully on the camera crew for services and events. Andy’s work took him all over the United States. Everywhere he went, he not only took exceptional work skills and over-the-top team management, but also his love of God and family. This—along with his charming, faith filled, fun, and satirical personality—captivated the love and admiration of many. In addition to his work-related travel, he especially enjoyed international vacations to France, Italy, England, and other destinations.

Andy held many titles and earned many accolades during his time at Capital One, finishing his time there as their National Underwriting Manager. In 2017, he took his expertise to First United Bank Mortgage Group. It was here that Andy worked as mortgage underwriting manager until October of 2018, when he was diagnosed with glioblastoma brain cancer. For the next seventeen months, Andy showed us how to walk in the strength of Jesus as he battled his cancer. He learned and demonstrated more than ever before what it means to lean on the “everlasting arms.” Andy fought the good fight; he won the race.

Andy was preceded in death by his father, Donald Bullard Sr.; and three siblings: Elizabeth Ann, Timothy, and Donald Eugene Jr.

Andy was survived by his mother Jacqueline Bullard of Bates City, MO; his siblings: John Bullard Sr., wife Barbara, of Independence, MO; Judy Cantrell, husband Joe, of Springfield, MO; Kay Mader, husband John, of Lee’s Summit, MO; John R. Bullard III of Grand Junction, CO; Dawn Bullard-Robinett, husband Steve, of Bates City, MO; Joseph Bullard of Oak Grove, MO; Jared Bullard, wife Christi, of Lee’s Summit, MO; and Mike Bullard, wife Sandy, of ElDorado; Becky Beal, husband Matt, of Bates City, MO; and Deborah Sanders, husband Robert, of Bates City, MO.  Andy had 40 nieces and nephews, many great and great-great nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, February 28th at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove, Oak Grove, MO; burial in Concord Cemetery in Bates City.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Palau Ministry.

Arrangements:  Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO   816-690-4441
