Hello, IIAW Friends,
Our First Neighborhood Transformation Cleanup Day of 2020!
Saturday, February 8th (2nd Saturday of each month)
8-11am
Unity Center, 803 W. 23rd Street, Independence, MO
Potluck breakfast at 8:00am, then prayers, and assignments are handed out. Come for part or all of the event.
This month we will tackle 23rd Street from S. Crysler to Noland Road, both sides of the street. Last year, IIAW's first year, we worked S. Crysler Avenue from Lexington to 23rd Street, South Avenue from Pleasant Street to S. Crysler, and 23rd Street under the RR overpass east of S. Crysler with great success. We focus on trash control.
We anticipate 50 volunteers for each Cleanup Saturday, to show our loving care and committed support for our city. The IIAW has the Chiefs' same never-quit, get-it-done-when-we're-down mindset. Our city has some big, bad giants to conquer. Drugs, homelessness, sex trafficking, and run down neighborhoods. The IIAW churches, civic groups, and individuals say, "We've had enough. Independence is BETTER and deserves BETTER, and we are taking our city back. Independence is destined to be a Kingdom city and we are here to help God prove it!"
Dress in warm layers, gloves, hats, and sturdy shoes or boots. It will be about 45 degrees and sunny. Bring rakes, weed whackers, push brooms, dust pans, shovels, plastic bags, grabbers, loppers, and pruners.
IIAW T Shirts are available for each volunteer. A donation to cover the cost is appreciated.
It takes team work to make the dream work.
