Saints the world over are invited to the annual General Conference of the Conference of Restoration Branches. While last year’s General Conference was postponed and finally cancelled because of the pandemic, we are excited to be able to reconvene this year, meeting in August instead of April.
Those who participate in the General Conference of the Conference of Restoration Branches, believe in the restored gospel and doctrine as taught by Jospeh Smith Jr. when he founded the Church in 1830 and as continued after his death, by his son, Joseph Smith III, after its reorganization in 1853, known as the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, (RLDS).
Saints known today as “Restorationists” and congregations, known today as Restoration Branches, still follow the original doctrine of the church, and have adopted the General Conference Rules (GCR’s) of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, which clearly authorize branches to come together in Conference.
This General Conference is the only church conference within the Restoration Branches movement that gives voice and vote to every member who has an authoritative baptism and whose pulpit is open to every priesthood member who has an authoritative ordination.
OUR MISSION
The purpose of the Conference of Restoration Branches is to bring people into a covenant with the Father through Jesus Christ. We exist to spread the Restored Gospel of Christ, to assist in the gathering of the House of Israel, and to establish Zion, a city of righteousness, the New Jerusalem.
The Conference exists to provide a vehicle for members of the Restoration to confer, discuss and make decisions on how to carry out our mission. Since it first convened in 2005, the Conference has restored the office of Apostle, and preserved the office of Seventy, Patriarch and High Priest, following divine revelation, Holy Scripture and church law and with the voice and vote of the saints, through common consent.
The missionary effort of the Conference of Branches is unequalled by any other group in the Restoration Branches movement. Because we have followed scripture and church law, the Lord has blessed our missionary efforts and thousands of saints all over the world have been brought into a knowledge of the fullness of the gospel and a covenant relationship with Jesus Christ.
If you are a baptized member of the church and you can trace your baptism back through authoritative priesthood to Joseph Smith Jr., you can have voice and vote in this General Conference. You can take an active part in advancing the work of the Kingdom. We invite you and urge you to join the work that God has called you too! There is no membership mechanism in the General Conference. Baptized members of the church can participate with voice and vote and Restoration Branches can send delegates to represent their members.
These are troubled, but exciting times. We are going forth in fulfillment of the Great Commission, to take the restored gospel to the four corners of the earth! Please come and be a part of this “great and marvelous work”! For more information, please visit; www.conferenceofbranches.org
