Looking for Communication Help
Hello all,
In the congregation where I attend, there are several licensed amateur radio operators. We operate generally on voice in the HF and VHF bands. I am looking for other licensed ham radio operators, or interested parties, who are willing to share their expertise and suggestions on how we can establish a network for communication if (or when) we lose the normal methods. For short range communication, we are also considering CB units because of their lower cost and no licensing requirements.
Ideally, I would like to put together a list of Restoration radio operators who are able and willing to assist in this endeavor. I think that once we see what resources we have available, we can then proceed to set up a network of locations that could help to spread the word.
If this duplicates any other endeavor that I am not aware of, perhaps we can get together and work to build a communications network that can help out in case of communication breakdowns.
