Walter Baker Obituary



Walter Collin Baker, 75, of Independence, MO, died Thursday, March 24, 2022. He was born December 9, 1946, in Warrensburg, MO the son of Robert and Margurite Butske Baker. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and four brothers. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1964. Walter was an elder and pastor of the Independence Branch of Jesus Christ's Restored Church, proclaiming the original doctrines of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a devoted minister and sought to bring others to Christ through the Ministry of our Lord Jesus placed upon his heart and mind. He will forever be remembered for the inspired sermons, prayers and genuine love he had for all who crossed his path in life and will continue to serve beyond the vale of his earthly home. Walter C. Baker married Doris Jane Hubble on August 20, 1966, she survives of the home. Together they raised seven children: Karen, Jeannie, William, David, Andrew, Caroline and Benjamin, thirteen grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers please send donations to St Jude. Memorial service will be held at the Independence Branch on April 16, 2022 at 11 a.m.
