FASTING, PRAYING, STUDYING, AND LIVING FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD

FEBRUARY 5, 2021

Greetings Saints around the world,

Sing with me: "What a glorious thing to be, in the light, in the light,

Which the  Saints of old did see, the true light of God

Let us keep our spirits pure, in the light, in the light

And unto the end endure, In the light of God

Then when Jesus comes again, in the light, in the light,

We shall live and with him reign, In this light of God.

What a marvelous promise for those who are steadfast and endure to the end.

Doctrine and Covenants 81:3 is one of the most plain and precious truths found in the scriptures.

"And again, I say unto you, I give unto you  new commandment, that you may understand my will concerning you, or in other words, I give unto you directions how you may act before me, that it may turn to you for your salvation. I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say, but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise."

So, among many other things, the Lord has told us to fast, pray, study, and live for the Kingdom of God to come on the earth. These are often called, "spiritual disciplines." Discipline is defined as an orderly or prescribed conduct or pattern of behavior, also, self-control. As we exercise self-control in regards to these disciplines we grow closer to God and reach the point where these things are not a drudgery or habit, but an act of love for the One who loves us the most.

THEN WHEN JESUS COMES AGAIN,

WE WILL LIVE AND

WITH HIM REIGN

IN THE LIGHT,

WHICH IS HIS LIGHT,

IN HIS KINGDOM.

Each one is encouraged to follow the Sixty Day Spiritual Preparation Guide. Focus on Jesus. The information can be found on the  Conference of Restoration Elders web site. eldersconference.org. We are in day 10: Jesus is the Good Shepherd. Read the 23rd Psalm and be reminded that.

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD

God be with you and keep you
