First 10 chapters of Genesis (February study)

From: Jason Kemp

First 10 chapters of Genesis (February study)

 Fellow saints:

January has come and gone and I'm sure that all of us have kept our New Year's Resolutions we made on or before January 1st, and all of us are now 10 pounds lighter and can lift 10 pounds more. Anyways, we are now in a new month, and just like partaking of the Lord's Supper is another month for all of us to made whole and start all over, again. I know there are many of you already on a scheduled Scripture reading, and for those already on a schedule or not on a schedule, I invite you to participate in a deep-dive reading of the first 10 chapters of Genesis from the Inspired Version. Average daily reading is only 700 words, which takes just over 2 minutes to read. The rest of the time would be to do a deep-dive into these verses, in what they mean, how they relate to other verses, etc.

I know, for many, these chapters in Genesis can be intimidating and confusing, and my prayers amongst all of us participating, is that the complex be made simple.

If you look at the Inspired Version and King James Version side-by-side, you will notice how incomplete the King James (and other) versions are of the early Genesis account.

In the January 28, 1957 "Herald" magazine, President/Prophet Israel Smith said the following:
"We as Latter Day Saints also believe in the 22nd Section of the Doctrine and Covenants which is profitable for all of us to read from time to time.
In this, Moses tells that he was allowed by the Lord to see the extent of creation, and he was very insistent to know how all these things happened.

I have done a little studying of a scientific work written by a man who was sustaining the idea of a Divine Mind being back of our creation.

He made the statement that the man who wrote the Book of Genesis must have been inspired of God.

That is something which we fully believe.

Section 22 says that words would be taken from the record which Moses would write.

And in this latter time these words would be restored among the children of men, among even as many as shall believe."

Just like a piece of furniture that is restored, the Scriptures are there for us to visually and understand the history and background of it.

May God bless as we search the scriptures.

We currently have 302 members on the Inspired Version Bible Reading Challenge Facebook page, and we could double that, if each one, reach one.
On the Facebook group page, there are daily notes posted to each of the scheduled daily readings.

I understand that not everyone has a Facebook page and many of us understand the controversies surrounding Facebook, but it does provide these group pages, free of charge.

If you do not have a Facebook page, please provide me your email address, and I will try to email these daily notes, each weekday morning.
