A Food Association to Unite the Saints
Many have testified that in the days to come, this land will experience serious food shortages and judgments. As a people, we have been repeatedly warned to prepare ourselves both spiritually and temporally for the trials that await us.
In 1909, when the Lord instructed the prophet Joseph Smith III to organize more fully the gathering of the saints to Jackson County, he spoke about work associations—agricultural, pastoral and industrial (D&C 128:5-7). Earl Curry in his work The Endowment stated, “Basic industries which provide for the essential needs of life ought already to have been established, for the times of economic and other kinds of collapse are not far from your doors.” –Kirtland Temple-1950’s [The Endowment, ZRF:2001]
It is a matter of urgency that we begin to organize agricultural associations, as indicated by the Lord. They will allow us to work together as a people, regardless of church or conference affiliations.
Invitation: Those who see a need to become more inter-dependent and self-sufficient in Food production for the local Center Place area, it is TIME TO MEET! If you like to eat and love the Lord’s work and His people, you should get involved. It is time to labor together for Zion, and not for money [only] (2Nep 11:109). We are told to “organize my kingdom upon the consecrated land…” (D&C 100:6g).
If you have land that can be planted, even in your own backyard, then please come.
If you have 10-20 acres available for planting, please come.
If you are an experienced laborer in Food production, please come.
Help us organize a FOOD Association – to organize the land preparation, planting, weeding, harvesting, product creation and distribution.
This will be organized so that all who labor according to their assigned responsibilities,
will share in its harvest. (No loafers). If we work, we eat.
If we work together, we will prepare the conditions for the kingdom in ZION.
