FASTING, PRAYING, STUDYING, AND LIVING FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD APRIL 2, 2021

FASTING, PRAYING, STUDYING AND LIVING FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD

APRIL 2, 2021

As we continue our journey toward Zion, the Kingdom of God, we are once again in a most special time of the year, in relation to our Lord, and Savior, Jesus Christ. The time in which we remember the ultimate sacrifice made by our God, for us, individually, "that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16.

I have a yard sign that reads, "Jesus is the reason for the season." I leave it up all year because Jesus is the reason for every season, and the ONLY reason. Sometimes we only seem interested in God when we want or need something. By consistently disciplining ourselves through fasting, prayer, study and demonstrating our stewardship, which is our response to the ministry of Jesus Christ, we realize that we need Jesus all the time.

As much of the world celebrates Easter, I prefer to call it Resurrection Sunday. We are all very much aware of how things have been changed to diminish the true meaning of things. Until Jesus returns in His glory, there will be debates, discussions, etc regarding every aspect of the life of Jesus. When was he born? When did he die? How long was he in the tomb? When is he coming back? And the list goes on.

There are 120 English translations of the complete  Bible, so it is easy to see why there are so many interpretations and confusion in the world. The "scholars" consider the Inspired Version as only a partial translation, which may be true, but they ignore the truths found in it.

In our efforts to discipline ourselves, we make those sacrifices that are necessary for us to find the truth. That is the "Real  Truth, Jesus Christ." Even though the New Testament in I Corinthians 15 tells us that over 500 people were eye witnesses of the resurrected Jesus Christ, how marvelous is the account in 3 Nephi 5-8 where it records that about 2500 souls saw Jesus.

The testimony of a living Jesus Christ is what each disciple needs. What a change was brought about in the eleven apostles after they saw the Risen Lord. Let us continue and even enhance our service to the Lord through our fasting, praying, studying, and living for the Kingdom that His Kingdom will soon come on earth as it is in Heaven and we can all see Him in His Glory.

 God Bless
