Art Class at the Unity Center
Muriel Luedeman here. My Hallmark friend, Michael Bingham, taught an art lesson to ten members of the Team Jesus Family at the Unity Center this last Tuesday. We had an incredible time drawing like children and learning so much about each other, as well as learning how fun doing art can be! Our assignment was to draw something that makes us happy. Michael had all the small people stand on an IGLOO ice chest and tell about their drawings. I call them small people because these young artists didn't feel like little children; they were my peers, serious artists. My sister, Simone Rawlings and I didn't have to stand on the IGLOO, but we did draw and tell what things make us happy. I drew a picture of Noodles, my daughter's goldendoodle. Artist Abigail Rawlings wanted to keep my drawing, so I gave it to her. Michael took a picture of us together.

Michael is the creator of Jump the Moon Art Studio in Logan, Utah, for people with diverse abilities. You can look him up at Jump the Moon to see the amazing things he is doing out there. Sadly, COVID closed down his studio and he is looking for another space. He needs prayer as he searches for ways and means to continue.
He flew in on Saturday, March 27th, at my invitation, for a few days to talk to area creatives about teaching art to our Beloveds. When I learned a year ago what Michael was doing in his hometown, I knew we had to have a Jump the Moon Art Studio in or near the Unity Center one day soon for our diverse ability Beloveds.
Michael was so blessed and impressed with what so many of us are doing back here, so many churches working together, and the creativity he saw in the TEAM JESUS vehicles and the Unity Center, that it made him rethink having a location where people come to him to learn art. Michael wants to have a mobile unit so he can take his creative problem solving art lessons to the people, instead of them coming to his studio.
On Sunday, at his request, we made the rounds to First Fruits Prayer Group, then Living Hope Restoration Church for fellowship time, Sunday school class and Song Service, Pastor Brian Carline's teaching at the Unity Center, and then to the LDS Ward services. Monday afternoon, Michael accompanied Pastor Brian to do outreach to the Beloveds at a Kansas City church. He wanted to have more experience to know better how to help our Beloveds here and where he lives. From his report and seeing his tears, I know he was blessed more than those he served that day.
Michael was also inspired by the vision board Pastor Brian Carline keeps and adds to in the worship center at the Unity Center. The members of that worship family recites and prays over that board until the things on it come to pass. Then, they give God the praise for answering their prayers. Pastor has some big things on that board. Michael went home encouraged and full of joy, knowing Independence is even stronger in his heart.
I knew you all would want to hear this wonderful experience. Be comforted and encouraged and as blessed as I was knowing Independence Is Alive and Well!
God's richest blessing to all,
