FASTING, PRAYING, STUDYING, AND LIVING FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Greetings Dear Saints,
I hope each one had a very meaningful Resurrection Sunday and Holy Week experience with our Savior. We look forward to the Conference of Restoration Elders (CRE), "Spring Gathering" Friday and Saturday, April 9 and 10, 2021. It will be held live as well as live streamed at the Waldo Avenue Restoration Branch/Center Place Restoration School in Independence, Missouri. The schedule is on the CRE website (eldersconference.org) as well as in the last Tidings of Zion.
Sunday, April 11, 2021 also begins the new Seventy Days of Devotions. It will run from April 11 through June 19, 2021and help in preparation for the CRE/POZ Reunion June 20-26, 2021. This is also on the CRE website
Jesus came to this earth, lived and taught His way, died for our sins, and was resurrected, showing He had all power over sin, the grave, death and Satan. As it repeats in the Hallelujah Chorus of the Messiah, HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH! FOR THE LORD GOD OMNIPOTENT REIGNETH!
Jesus created us for a purpose and made the ultimate sacrifice so that we would know we could accomplish that purpose with His help. Thus the process of disciplining our lives to follow in His steps, disciplines that "train" us to become more like Jesus. Most, if not all, other areas of endeavor, require certain measures of discipline if we are to achieve "success." Athletes, musicians, business people, educators etc must incorporate certain disciplines in their daily life style in order to accomplish their goals.
Being a true disciple of Jesus Christ requires no less of us as we are constantly reminded in the scriptures to subdue the flesh on behalf of the spirit. Fasting, praying, and studying, among other things will help prepares us for God's work and thus His Kingdom on earth.
1. Study and become learned and obedient in the Law, and become proficient in knowing it's Restoration heritage.
2. Increase their capacity to fast and pray effectively for the general welfare of the church and the world.
3. Learn to put the work of the gospel first and foremost in our lives individually, in the life of the family, and the life of the Branch/Church.
4. Be valiant in testimony of the risen Christ at every opportunity. Witness daily in all areas of life.
