Cheryl Mary Nelson December 5, 1931 — September 1, 2023 Cheryl Mary Nelson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and respected member of the community, peacefully passed away on September 1, 2023. She was 91 years old and lived a remarkable life filled with love, compassion, and numerous accomplishments. Cheryl was a woman of many talents and the embodiment of kindness. Throughout her career as the co-owner of a small business, alongside her husband, Jalmer, she consistently demonstrated her commitment to excellence. Her unwavering dedication and leadership skills played a vital role in the success of the company. Beyond her professional achievements, Cheryl was known for her warm heart and generous spirit. Her desire to make a positive impact extended far beyond the walls of her workplace. One of her accomplishments was volunteering in the Chaplains office at Centerpoint Hospital. Outside of work and volunteering, Cheryl cultivated a deep appreciation for nature. Spending countless hours watching birds and tending to her blooming flowers brought her immense joy and peace. Cheryl was also involved in the Community of Christ church for all of her life. This spiritual community provided Cheryl with a sense of belonging and a supportive network that enriched her existence year after year. Her unwavering faith guided her through both triumphs and tribulations. As a devoted wife to her late husband of 61yrs, Cheryl created a loving and nurturing home that served as the foundation for their family life. Together, they raised four children. Cheryl is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jalmer; 1 sister and 4 brothers. She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Randy), Kathryn (Jay), Judy (Tracy) and Beverly (David); also many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Today, as we mourn the loss of a remarkable woman, let us also celebrate her life—a life well-lived and filled with love. Though Cheryl may no longer be physically present among us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of all those fortunate enough to have known her. In memory of Cheryl Mary Nelson, a memorial service will be held at Village Heights Community of Christ church on a date yet to be determined. |
