Fall Farm Fest Cancelled

Fall Farm Fest Cancelled

Last Tuesday was a traumatic day for our family. In all the years we have been on the farm, I have never had a day hit me this hard.

With Bob's tractor down for repairs, we borrowed one from a friend that was set up with pallet jacks instead of a bale spike. When Bob picked up one of the bales, it rolled back, pinning him to the tractor seat. The bale was resting on his chest making it difficult for him to breath. I called 911, and the fire chief and ambulance came, followed by back-up, including 15 men and three sheriffs. They pushed the bale off of him, gave him oxygen and moved him to a gurney. He was life-flighted to Research Hospital.

We are beyond grateful that Bob is going to be okay. Long story short - no broken bones, but very deep tissue bruising. He has had several CT scans and an MRI this morning. We are hoping for a speedy recovering, but these things take time and lots of rest.

All of that being said, we have decided to cancel the Fall Farm Fest this year. Between the tractor being down and Bob's accident, it is not feasible to hold it this year. We appreciate your understanding as this was not an easy decision. Please stay tuned for next year.

Thank you and God Bless,
Cathy White & OHF Board of Directors
