LIVING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD MARCH 10, 2022

Greetings Dear Saints,

Well, we continue living in the Kingdom of God as the world seems to be falling apart all around us. The Lord's Prayer in Matthew 6:11 states, "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is done in heaven."

Doctrine and Covenants 65 is a very interesting scripture.
65:1a Hearken, and lo, a voice as of one sent down from on high, who is mighty and powerful, whose going forth is unto the ends of the earth, yea, whose voice is unto men: Prepare ye the way of the Lord; make his paths straight.
1b The keys of the kingdom of God are committed unto man on the earth; and from thence shall the gospel roll forth unto the ends of the earth, as the stone which is cut out of the mountain without hands shall roll forth until it has filled the whole earth.
1c Yea, a voice crying, Prepare ye the way of the Lord; prepare ye the supper of the Lamb; make ready for the Bridegroom;
1d pray unto the Lord; call upon his holy name; make known his wonderful works among the people; call upon the Lord, that his kingdom may go forth upon the earth,
1e that the inhabitants thereof may receive it and be prepared for the days to come, in the which the Son of Man shall come down in heaven, clothed in the brightness of his glory, to meet the kingdom of God which is set up on the earth.
1f Wherefore, may the kingdom of God go forth, that the kingdom of heaven may come, that thou, O God, may be glorified in heaven, so on earth, that thy enemies may be subdued; for thine is the honor, power, and glory, forever and ever. Amen.

In an article entitled "The Way of Life," in Daily Bread, 1970, the question was asked, "Do we ever become so concerned about our status in the life to come that we forget about our opportunities here and now?"   A lady was considering her status in the life to come and wondering if she had the qualities necessary to live with God and Christ, both here and in the hereafter. In her words, "Then like a beautiful jewel, shimmering with light, came the thought, You will be the same person there that you are now, neither more nor less."  This thought seems to be re-enforced in Alma 16:232.

A prayer in a Daily Prayer Book states, "Dear Father, take this day's life into Thine own keeping. Control all my thoughts and feelings. Direct all my energies. Instruct my mind. Sustain my will. Take my hands and make them skillful to serve Thee. Take my feet and make them swift to do Thy bidding. Take my eyes and keep them focused upon Thine everlasting beauty. Take my mouth and make it eloquent in testimony to Thy love. Make each day a day of obedience, a day of spiritual joy and peace. Make every day part of the work of the Kingdom of my Lord Christ, in whose name this my prayer is said, even so, Amen.

May God's Holy Spirit abide with and within you.

  1. And you dare mention a woman in your commentary when you have rejected the pleas and cries of a widow for help
