Prayer Request - Brother Asanka
Brother Asanka of Sri Lanka was diagnosed with diabetes about a year ago. Since then, he has had to have a finger amputated. More recently, he encountered problems with his eyesight. Now, he may need to have his leg amputated. Please pray for Brother Asanka. Diabetes is a health issue among poor people in many rice based nations.
Asanka was the temple keeper of a local Buddhist temple and regularly harassed Christian pastors and churches, but he finally listened to the gospel of Jesus Christ, believed, and was baptized in 2017. He began inviting his neighbors to listen to the good news. He built what we would call a carport on the side of his house, except there is no way to drive a car up to it. He used it for a place for people to hear the gospel and worship the Savior. He was ordained a elder in 2018 and has raised up a branch in Nogombo, a suburb of Columbo, the capitol of Sri Lanka. About 120 people regularly meet for worship in the carport. We have 11 branches in Sri Lanka.
Would you please pray that our Lord will heal Asanka and that he may continue his work as pastor of the Nogombo Branch.
Bob
