Final decision on RCI Summer Camps for 2020
For Immediate Release:
The
RCI board met last night to finalize what camps we would be able to
authorize for the 2020 season. The camps we had scheduled include
Mountain Camp, Walk-The-Talk, Leadership, Bountiful, Mammoth, Tiona, and
Liahona. We considered each camp individually with respect to date,
location, age group, and regulatory guidelines published by the CDC,
Jackson County, and other appropriate regions. After much prayer,
information gathering and discussion, the board voted in each instance
to not authorize the camp. We are diligently looking into other
opportunities to offer ministry this summer and will publicize that
information when it becomes available.
For
those that have already registered and paid for camp, the RCI board
will reach out to you directly over the next several days to refund the
registration fee.
Our
board, directors, and staff are made up of individuals who have
dedicated themselves for many years to youth ministry. This was not an
easy decision. Our hearts break over the lost opportunity, and we look
forward to next summer when we hope to return to our normal camping
season.
