The Intensifying Storm
Dear Family and Friends,
Please take time to watch the videos linked below. I believe they are very significant. The first one is approx. 16 minutes.
This second video is from the same pastor and is a follow-up to the first. Its about 20 minutes.
The
testimony of the pastor in these videos resonates with me for a number
of reasons, including a recent experience illustrating a similar
warning. It came to me on June 17th while I was on a hilltop
in SW Iowa during the church senior high camp I attended there with my
youngest daughter. Here’s a summary of that experience:
Each
year the campers and staff hike up to a hilltop on the camp grounds to
watch the sunset and then have a prayer and testimony service. There
were about 70 or so of us up there this year. Shortly after the service
began, the winds picked up and it was quite hard to hear people pray and
testify. So one of the camp directors stepped forward and asked
everyone to join her in prayer that the winds would quiet down. I had
been praying silently they would calm, so I was glad we were invited to
pray together that the winds would be stilled. But the winds seemed to
grow even stronger, to the point it was nearly impossible to hear
someone speak less than 5 ft away. After several people prayed, I was
compelled to step forward and speak boldly to the group. I told them
that it had been impressed upon me that the strong winds we were
experiencing were a sign of what was about to come upon this country,
and like those judgments, these winds would not be turned back. In that
very moment I was also reminded of how Jeremiah was told to stop praying
for his people because God’s judgments would not be turned away from
them because they refused to turn back to Him (e.g. Jeremiah 7:16,
11:14, 14:11,12…). Just like then, God’s judgments are now coming upon
this land through different agents. I simply could not keep myself from
speaking these words. Then on Saturday morning at the camp dedication
service I told the camp of a special testimony the Lord gave me as we
came down off the hill that Wednesday evening. I was given to
understand that even though I could not hear many of them praying and
testifying as they stood on the windy hilltop, I would know that in the
midst of the strong winds that would soon blow across this country they
were still praying and God would hear them. And I assured them that they
could know that I too would be standing in the midst of these same
winds to pray for them.
The
week before the camp, while in a time of prayer, I was told “this is
it.” With the strong winds on the hilltop I now had a physical
understanding of what this short message meant. As others are
confirming, a time of judgment will soon sweep over this land. Please
prayerfully consider these testimonies and prepare accordingly. And may
we all be ever ready to give an answer for the hope that is in us. A
thousand years with Jesus Christ in His kingdom, Zion, awaits all those
who receive the Holy Ghost and endure to the end (I Nephi 1:187-189).
May none miss it.
Blessings,
Dwight Burford
