Prophecies of the Lord’s Return in the Scriptures

“And then his disciples asked him, saying, Master, tell us concerning thy coming? And he answered them, and said, In the generation in which the times of the Gentiles shall be fulfilled, there shall be signs . . . upon the earth distress of nations with perplexity . . . men’s hearts failing them for fear, for looking after those things coming on the earth, . . .” (Luke 21:24-26). These signs certainly describe the current pandemic caused by the Coronavirus.

“Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled” (Luke 21:23). Jerusalem was trodden down by the Gentiles from AD 70 until June 7, 1967, when after a period of nearly two thousand years Jerusalem, including the Temple Mount, was liberated by the Army of Israel. This happened during the Six Day War.

“Verily I say unto you, this generation when the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled [June 7, 1967], shall not pass away til all be fulfilled” (Luke 21:32). We are living within the generation [1967-?] when all that has been prophesied concerning the Lord’s return will be fulfilled. The events prophesied to accompany the Lord’s return are these: The return of Enoch’s City and The Church of the First-Born with 10,000’s of his Saints (Revelation 1:7; Jude, verse 14). The First Resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:51-53; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) The Marriage Supper (Revelation 19:7-9) The Millenial Reign Begins (Revelation 20:2-4).

“For behold, he cometh in the clouds with ten thousands of his saints in the kingdom, clothed with the glory of his Father. And every eye shall see him; and they who pierced him, and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him” (Revelation 1:7).

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first; Then they who are alive, shall be caught up together into the clouds with them who remain [the dead in Christ] to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we be ever with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

“In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the sound of the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed” (1 Corinthians 15:52).

“Except those days should be shortened, there should none of their flesh be saved. But for the elects sake . . . those days shall be shortened” (Matthew 24:19-20 IV; 24:22 KJV). The destruction of all flesh by man began to be a possibility at the dawning of the nuclear age in August of 1945. Today it is a more distinct possibility than ever before.

“And again, this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world, for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come . . .” (Matthew 24:32 IV; 24:14 KJV). The gospel is being preached in all the world today by the various means of computer technology.

“I tell you that he will come, and when he does come, he will avenge his saints speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8). “And as it was in the days of Noe; so shall it be also in the days of the Son of Man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed” (Luke 17:26-30). See also 2 Timothy 3:1-7 & Malachi 4:1-3. Surely our world is also nearly ripened for destruction. See Revelation 14:14-20.

“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words of the book, even to the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased” (Daniel 12:4).

“Even until all things shall be fulfilled, according to the will of the Father, when I shall come in my glory with the powers of heaven” (3 Nephi 13:18).

“Enoch saw the day of the coming of the Son of Man, in the last days, to dwell on the earth, in righteousness, for the space of a thousand years” (Genesis 7:73 IV).

“Prepare ye, prepare ye for that which is to come, for the Lord is nigh . . .” (Doctrine and Covenants 1:3-b)

“Even so, come, Lord Jesus”

(Revelation 22:20).
