Obituary of Alice L. (Chapman) Ruble
Alice Ruble, born on January 23rd, 1938 was reunited with her beloved husband
Ronald on February 21, 2023 at the age of 85. Alice loved her family and
treasured the restored gospel of The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter Day Saints.
In her younger days she spent time growing up on the family farm riding horses
and enjoying the animals. That enjoyment carried into her adult life as she
would go to relatives’ farms to ride horses with her three daughters. That love
of animals has lived on with her children and grandchildren.
As a wife and mother, her days were filled with many activities. She got a lot
of pleasure in gardening, canning, baking bread, sewing, quilting (even in the
last 6 months she made over 22 quilts that she donated to Children’s Mercy) and
most importantly giving back to others. Alice volunteered at the Groves for
over 20 years where she would assist with pushing wheelchairs, preparing the
hymns for Sunday service and visiting with residents.
Alice from an early age embraced the restored gospel and it was the foundation
of her life. It is one that was passed to her children, grandchildren and great
grandchildren. To this day, all actively attend with all being baptized or
blessed into the church. It is this legacy and the principles of the gospel
that she gave her family that truly defines her and her love of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Elsie (Weeks) Chapman, husband
Ronald Ruble, and siblings. She is survived by her three daughters LaVon
(Wayne) Marshall of Bondurant IA, Ronda (Tim) Ohmer of Independence MO, and
Glenda (Clayton) Foss of Holden MO; seven grandkids, Miranda (Kyle) Riley of
Bondurant IA, Marissa (Robert) Pinkowski of Bondurant IA, Jeff Ohmer of Independence
MO, Tiffani (Jordan) Brennan of Blue Springs MO, Andy (Bethany) Foss of Odessa
MO, Jacara (Job) Howen of Independence MO and Sara Foss of Holden MO; seven
great grandkids Edie, Gwen and Kolby Riley, Maggie Pinkowski, Logan Brennan,
Blake and Brooke Foss.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Center
Place Restoration School (CPRS) in memory of Alice.
