LIVING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD FEBRUARY 23, 2023
To the lovely Saints of God, all around the world, May the highest form of love, God’s Love, bless you always.
February is slipping past and March is ready to come in. Whether it be as a lion, or a lamb, matters not as long as we continue our march toward the beautiful Zion. The City of our God.
As the Isaac Watts hymn reminds us, “Then let our songs abound, and every tear be dry. We’re marching through Immanuel’s ground to fairer worlds on high. We’re marching to Zion, Beautiful, beautiful Zion; We’re marching upward to Zion, the Beautiful City of God.”
Do you hear it? Can you feel it? Are your senses tingling with the desire for Christ to return and fully establish His Kingdom on earth? Let us not keep Jesus standing outside the door, but open it wide that He may enter and we may sup with Him and He with us.
What are we to do, as we wait for the return of Jesus? In Matthew 5 after Jesus had given us the Beatitudes or “Keys to the Kingdom,” He said in verses 16-18, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, I give unto you to be the light of the world; a city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. 17 Behold, do men light a candle and put it under a bushel? Nay, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light to all that are in the house. 18 Therefore, let your light so shine before this world, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”
Jesus is the true light of the world, but He has given each of us the power and authority to represent Him in and to the world. So, as we wait for Him to return, what are we doing with the light He has given us? As we sing the campfire song, “This little light of mine, I’m going to LET IT SHINE”. As we all know, a flashlight is only good when it has a good bulb, and good batteries that are inserted correctly. You can have a flashlight that takes any number of batteries and if just one battery is inserted the wrong way or not inserted at all, the flashlight simply will not flash.
So it is with the light that Jesus has given us. We must be powered by His power and shine the Light of Christ into this dark world. This is our individual calling as members of the Body of Christ. We may be the only “Jesus” that some will ever see. So, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!!
God bless and keep you
Paul Gage
