From: Bob Moore
Pakistan Elder
We have received some good news about our missionary elder in Pakistan. He was arrested on December 17 and imprisoned. His crime was teaching Moslems about Jesus Christ.
The attorney who was willing to represented him negotiated a penalty that included an affidavit from our elder that he would not teach the gospel of Jesus Christ to Moslems and compensation for the Moslems who claimed emotional injury from his evangelism.
I sent the negotiated amount to the attorney, but because of new Pakistani laws regarding transfers of funds, the bank wire was returned. I sent the wire two more times and it was finally received this week. Our elder was released on Wednesday. His family brought him home and immediately took him to the hospital. He had been beaten and tortured to the point that he could not walk or talk. He will stay in the hospital for a few days until he has is able to go home. His recovery will take much longer.
Thank you for your prayers and concern.
Please keep our brother in your prayers.
