Meal Prep Volunteers Reminders and Updates
Hello, Initiative and Unity Center Friends,
Saturday, October 2nd Meal Prep for Beloveds, 8-10am, Unity Center, 803 W. 23rd Street.
We invite all new IIAW friends to join us in this outreach to our Beloveds who have no home. Come and tour the Unity Center and see the renovation progress. We have come a long way in less than three years. God is truly good to send us help in so many ways.
New blinds are up in the Jesus Store! Donations are coming in to complete blinds installation on the rest of the windows. If you want to make a donation, make it to the Unity Center, In memo space write, "For Blinds". PO Box 521141, Independence, Mo 64052.
The building inspector came to assess our need for a sprinkler system. We don't have it in writing, but the inspector said because the building is concrete and brick, we won't need a sprinkler system. Please keep us in your prayers toward that end. A sprinkler system would cost $150,000 to $250,000. We are hopeful that the Unity Center will soon qualify as a warming center in cold weather.
Please pray for our next steps toward finishing Ruth House, transitional housing for sex trafficking and domestic abuse women and children. Floors, walls, ceiling, partitions, beds, and furnishings are some of the things yet to be done.
