ONLINE AUCTION OF RLDS CHURCH SEAL
We invite everyone who wants an opportunity to purchase an actual RLDS Church Seal to participate in an online auction, beginning today.
We have only one item available in this auction—a Church Seal, which has been displayed on an RLDS Church building for many years. It is 35.5 inches in diameter, made of an acrylic material, and weighs approximately 18 pounds.
We are offering the Church Seal to the highest bidder as of noon on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 (unless the closing time is extended—see below).
BIDDING: Bidding will begin at $400.00, and bids may be placed in increments of $50.00 or more.
PAYMENT: When the auction closes, the high bidder will make two payments by check, money order, or cashier’s check: $200.00 goes to Paul V. Ludy to reimburse his investment (plus $11.70 sales tax if the high bidder is in Missouri), and the balance of the bid is a tax-deductible contribution to African Restoration Ministries (ARM) for the Mildred Smith Mission Health Center in Kenya. In effect, bidding will determine who can purchase the Church Seal for $200.00. The high bidder at the close of the auction will have 7 days to make the payments. If payments are not made within that time, the next highest bidder will become the winning bidder.
HOW TO BID: TELEPHONE CALLS ONLY (no texts, no e-mails, no postcards, etc.) to Paul V. Ludy at 816-210-8450. We will need your name, amount of your bid, and your phone number so we can contact you.
NOTIFICATION: We will place all bidders on a phone list and notify them with the amount of each new bid. Interested persons who have not bid can call and request to be added to the notification list. If someone is no longer interested, he can call and request that his name be removed from the list. In an attempt to maintain privacy, we do not intend to divulge the names of any bidders.
EXTENSIONS TO THE CLOSING TIME: If a bid is placed within 6 hours of the closing time (currently noon on Tuesday, November 30, 2021), the closing time will be extended by 6 hours past the time that bidders and interested persons are notified by phone. If another bid is placed within that extension period, the closing time will be extended again, etc.
DELIVERY: The Church Seal will not be shipped. It may be picked up at Bates City, MO, or it will be delivered in the Independence, MO, area. If the winning bidder is not in the Center Place, he should make arrangements to pick up the Church Seal or have it delivered to a good friend for safekeeping.
