Hello Again, Lovely Saints

Please find attached the latest Edition of the Australian Restoration News, the October Issue. Thank you again to those who contributed to this issue and for your ongoing support. If you have any suggestions or articles you wish to contribute, please email me at this address. I apologize in advance for any distortions in the layout. I continue to check this several times each month, including sending it out via email to other Saints for review. However, from feedback received, I am only able to suggest that this may be due to the different computer software used between us. I assure you, it does look right at this end, before being sent out.

AUSTRALIAN RESTORATION NEWS
OCTOBER 2021

AROUND AND ABOUT THE CENTRE PLACE

By High Priest Paul J. Gage, of Independence, Missouri

Greetings to our Beloved Saints in Australia,

The earth keeps turning and the seasons continue to proceed, just as God has set them in order. Psalm 95 says it so beautifully:"1 Oh, come, let us sing unto the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation.2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.3 For the Lord is a great God and a great King above all gods.4 In his hand are the deep places of the earth; the strength of the hills is his also.5 The sea is his, and he made it; and his hand formed the dry land.6 Oh, come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker.7 For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand."

This gives us hope and encouragement in a world of darkness and despair. God has always been, now is, and will always be in control of the world. Everything will play out according to His plan. We give great heed to the Word of God and many scriptures such as Romans 8:28-39 are a tremendous source of strength and comfort as we continue each day of our lives.

It has been a real joy to join with you on the Teams meetings. There has been some great ministry provided and it is always wonderful to see your lovely faces on the screen. Thanks to each one who makes all this possible, especially our God.

Some exciting things are happening in the Centre Place! The recent summer Series sponsored by the Pastors of Zion provided really good ministry. These can be viewed on the Waldo website.

The Center Place Restoration School(CPRS)/Waldo Avenue RB facility is being upgraded. The entire sanctuary, balcony, and hallway around the sanctuary is now a bright white with some sections being an off white. All new lighting has been installed in the sanctuary and hallway around the sanctuary. All the pews have been replaced with chairs, the stage has been extended and plans now are to replace all the carpeting in the sanctuary. You can view some of the changes at crsgoldeneagles.com. CPRS is back in session for this year with 206 students enrolled which is six year high in enrollment.

Four branches in Independence are now joining for services one Sunday night and one Wednesday night each month. There have been two combined services in September. The four branches are Living Hope, Missionary, Outreach and Waldo Avenue. On Wednesday, September 15 there were seven branches represented. It was a combined prayer service/preaching as Elder Eric Odida from Kenya was with us.

Efforts are being made by Restoration Saints to begin a Ministry to the Grieving, a Neighborhood Care Program, assisting the homeless (which we call the Beloveds, and other projects of reaching out to the community and witnessing for the Lord."

The Conference of Restoration Elders (CRE) continues to provide live stream ministry as well as in person events such as the spring Gathering, summer reunion, a Fall Gathering as well as providing Daily Devotion Guides. We will begin new 100 Day Devotion Guide on September 26, 2021 which will run through January 3, 2022. The theme is "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, There is Something About that Name." It will include a daily scripture, hymn and prayer thought.. All CRE materials are available on their website eldersconference.org.

The missionary efforts continue to be slowed by world conditions, but the missionary groups (ARM) African Restoration Ministries, (GEM) Greater European Ministries, (LAMB) Latin American Missions Board, and (SEAAM) South East Asian and Australia Ministries are still functioning.

May God bless each of you as you continue in His service to help bring forth His Kingdom on earth. Have a great October!

RICHES FROM THE SCRIPTURES

By Elder Neil Kerswell, of Queensland, Australia

Vol 5 Chapter 7 Joshua and the Walls of Jericho

At a time after the leadership of Moses, Joshua was the leader and prophet guiding the children of Israel to go into the promised land to inherit the blessings God had promised them. Although Moses had played such a great part in their exodus from Egypt, it would be Joshua who took the reins in realising the promises. Along the way they came up against some challenges. Today we are looking at the battle of Jericho, a war that would be won through obedience to God’s instructions. As we read look to the instructions and imagine yourself as a part of this challenge. Imagine your amazement at the demonstration of Divine power after everyone pulled together and did what was required of them. The people did not have great power, but rather God would by His power break down all obstacles before His people if they remembered His word and kept His commandments.

Joshua 6:1] Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel; none went out, and none came in.
[Joshua 6:2] And the Lord said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.
[Joshua 6:3] And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days.
[Joshua 6:4] And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams' horns; and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.
[Joshua 6:5] And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.
[Joshua 6:6] And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the Lord.
[Joshua 6:7] And he said unto the people, Pass on, and compass the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of the Lord.
[Joshua 6:8] And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns passed on before the Lord, and blew with the trumpets; and the ark of the covenant of the Lord followed them.
[Joshua 6:9] And the armed men went before the priests that blew with the trumpets, and the rearward came after the ark, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
[Joshua 6:10] And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout.
[Joshua 6:11] So the ark of the Lord compassed the city, going about it once; and they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp.
[Joshua 6:12] And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the Lord.
[Joshua 6:13] And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the Lord went on continually, and blew with the trumpets; and the armed men went before them; but the reward came after the ark of the Lord, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
[Joshua 6:14] And the second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp. So they did six days.
[Joshua 6:15] And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times; only on that day they compassed the city seven times.
[Joshua 6:16] And it came to pass the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the Lord hath given you the city.
[Joshua 6:17] And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the Lord; only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.
[Joshua 6:18] And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.
[Joshua 6:19] But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are consecrated unto the Lord; they shall come into the treasury of the Lord.

Rahab was kept alive because she hid and protected the Israelite spies who went into the city, she exercised wisdom and did the right thing by Israel and was blessed because of her good works towards God’s people.

[Joshua 6:20] So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets; and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.
[Joshua 6:21] And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.
[Joshua 6:22] But Joshua had said unto the two men that had spied out the country, Go into the harlot's house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye swore unto her.
[Joshua 6:23] And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel.
[Joshua 6:24] And they burnt the city with fire, and all that was therein; only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the Lord.
[Joshua 6:25] And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father's household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.
[Joshua 6:26] And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the Lord, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho; he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.
[Joshua 6:27] So the Lord was with Joshua; and his fame was noised throughout all the country.

God was with His people, and He helped them by His power and while ever they were obedient he continued to bless and prosper them. The people that had taken the land prior to Israel were doing Evil and this is why the Israelites were not to take anything except what God had commanded. This was to ensure idolatry and false worship did not pollute their inheritance. This is why Israel was commanded not to marry outside of Israel. It all comes back to the promise made to Abraham their father, that in his seed should the Earth be blessed. Christ was of His seed and made it of paramount importance to keep a people in line and in existence for this promise to be fulfilled in the Meridian of time. This why in the last days the ministry of turning the hearts of our Fathers to the children and the children to our Fathers came into play. Without this truly taking place there shall be utter destruction. It does us good to remember our roots and learn the lessons of the past. Because straight after this blessing of God some of the people took of the accursed things and brought God’s displeasure and lessons had to be learned. May you be blessed as you read further is my Prayer in Jesus Name, Amen.

IS BAPTISM IMPORTANT?

By Elder Murray G. Broughton of Euroa, in Victoria, Australia

I Mark 10:11 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them; and the disciples rebuked those that brought them.
Mark 10:12 But when Jesus saw and heard them, he was much displeased and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not; for of such is the kingdom of God.
Mark 10:13 Verily, I say unto you, whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
Mark 10:14 And he took them up in his arms, and put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

Matt 19:13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them and pray. And the disciples rebuked them, saying, there is no need, for Jesus hath said, such shall be saved.
Matt 19:14 But Jesus said, suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
Matt 19:15 And he laid hands on them and departed thence.

Isa 24:5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.

Acts 2:36 Therefore, let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, men and brethren, what shall we do?
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

A little child is pure without sin, does not know the sin in the world, cannot repent.

Rom 6:3 Know ye not that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Rom 6:4 Therefore, we are buried with him by baptism into death, that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Col 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

Baptism of Water

Acts 8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
Acts 8:36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water; and the eunuch said, See; here is water. What doth hinder me to be baptized?
Acts 8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Acts 8:38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still; and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him.

John Baptized Jesus in the river Jordan. Jesus is the way, the Truth and the Life.

Baptism of the Holy Ghost

Acts 8:14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John,
Acts 8:15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Ghost. Acts 8:16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them; only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Acts 8:17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

John 3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews;
John 3:2 The same came to Jesus by night and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God; for no man can do these miracles which thou doest, except God be with him.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
John 3:4 Nicodemus said unto him, how can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb and be born?
John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Heb 6:1 Therefore, not leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
Heb 6:2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, and of the resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. Heb 6:3 And we will go on unto perfection if God permit.

2Ne 13:24 For the gate by which ye should enter is repentance and baptism by water; and then cometh a remission of your sins by fire and by the Holy Ghost.
2Ne 13:25 And then are ye in this straight and narrow path which leads to eternal life; yea, ye have entered in by the gate; ye have done according to the commandments of the Father and the Son;
2Ne 13:26 And ye have received the Holy Ghost, which witnesses of the Father and the Son, unto the fulfilling of the promise which he hath made, that if ye enter in by the way, ye should receive.
2Ne 13:27 And now, my beloved brethren, after ye have gotten into this straight and narrow path, I would ask if all is done.
2Ne 13:28 Behold, I say unto you, Nay; for ye have not come thus far, save it were by the word of Christ, with unshaken faith in him, relying wholly upon the merits of him who is mighty to save;
2Ne 13:29 Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope and a love of God and of all men.
2Ne 13:30 Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father, Ye shall have eternal life.
2Ne 13:31 And now, behold, my beloved brethren, this is the way; and there is none other way nor name given under heaven whereby man can be saved in the kingdom of God.
2Ne 13:32 And now, behold, this is the doctrine of Christ and the only and true doctrine of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, which is one God, without end. Amen.

Mos 9:41 Now I say unto you, If this be the desire of your hearts, what have you against being baptized in the name of the Lord, as a witness before him that ye have entered into a covenant with him that ye will serve him and keep his commandments, that he may pour out his Spirit more abundantly upon you?
Mos 9:45 And after Alma had said these words, both Alma and Helam were buried in the water; and they arose and came forth out of the water rejoicing, being filled with the Spirit.

Do you think Baptism is important? I hope you do and are Baptised, and we will rejoice, and you will rejoice, we will rejoice together. It is your decision, no one makes us be Baptised. When we do, we make a covenant with Him, and must keep that Covenant all of our days. Do you want to be Baptised?

THE SCATTERED SAINTS ~ ‘SMALL BEGINNINGS’

“For who hath despised the day of small things? For they shall rejoice and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the servants of the Lord, which run to and fro through the whole earth.”
Zechariah 4:10

Imagine the temple lying in ruins, and having to be rebuilt from the ground up. That’s what things were like when Zechariah shared his vision with the people of Israel. Some thought it couldn’t be done, and others thought that their particular contribution would make no difference. So Zechariah challenged them in these words: ‘Does anyone dare despise this day of small beginnings? They’ll change their tune when they see Zerubbabel setting the last stone in place!’ Sometimes we can feel like there are too many changes we need to make to our lifestyle, our relationships and our faith. It’s at that point we need to choose to rebuild. And that can feel overwhelming. Maybe we don’t know where to start, or we can’t see how such a huge task is even possible. But making changes to our lives is a process. Rebuilding takes time and patience. It’s a step-by-step thing. Even the smallest change we make in our lives is important. We may feel like we’re not advancing quickly enough, that we’re failing because we’re taking such small steps. But God doesn’t see it like that. He takes us on a journey, and He’s gentle with us. He helps us change and rebuild things at a pace He knows we can handle. The Bible tells us that ‘Being confident of this very thing: that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ,’ (Philippians 1:6). God doesn’t start working with us and in us, only to leave us halfway through the process; He doesn’t give up on us because we’re taking too long to change. So, when we find ourselves in a place where we need to begin to rebuild, let’s remember Zechariah’s words and avoid despising the ‘day of small beginnings.’

What Now?

Spend some time thinking and praying about what may need rebuilding in your life. Take a step towards rebuilding today by making one change, however big or small, in your life. This Reading comes from UCB.

This ‘Scattered Saints’ space is for anyone and everyone who would like to share something with our readers and fellow Saints. Whether it be a story, favorite hymn or poem, or a testimony – please send them to our editor to include.
