FASTING, PRAYING, STUDYING AND LIVING FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD

AUGUST 26, 2021

Showers of God's Blessings to all the Saints Around the World,

As we continue in our efforts to prepare ourselves for the Return of our Lord Jesus Christ, I wanted to share a few things with you. These are things that might help keep us motivated as we ready ourselves for the Kingdom.

From the Daily bread, 1970 is the story of an educated Negro from Missouri, Laurence Clifton Jones, also known as the "Little Professor," who had many opportunities to achieve wealth fame and prestige. His main interest however, was in helping his people obtain a practical education. It was a great struggle, but he never gave up. When asked how he managed to persevere through the lean years of establishing a school, he said, "I just kept on praying as if everything depended on God and kept working as if everything depended on me."

Zion, the Kingdom of God can only be realized if we like Laurence Jones pray as if everything depended on God and work (fast, pray, study and live, as if everything depended on us. The Lord bless each one as they give such an effort.

From one of our hymns, "Rise Up, O Saints of God,"

are these words of challenge and encouragement.

"Rise up o Saints of God!

Have done with lesser things;

Give heart, and soul, and mind and strength

to serve the King of Kings.

Rise up O Saints of God!

The Church for you doth wait;

 Her strength unequal to her task,

rise up and make her great."

In Christ,

Paul Gage
